When Tafiti, a young meerkat, meets Mèchefol, a friendly and exuberant bush pig, he knows they can never be friends. Life in the desert is full of dangers, and Tafiti has always respected the essential rule of survival among meerkats: never befriend strangers. But when his grandfather is bitten by a poisonous snake, Tafiti has no choice. He must set out in search of a legendary flower that cures all ills, but which grows beyond the vast, scorching expanses of the desert. It is a perilous quest that Tafiti decides to undertake alone. But he hasn't counted on Mèchefol, who is determined to accompany his new best friend on this adventure, whether he likes it or not...
