LA MONSTRE
La Monstre is a visual and theatrical performance in which a body undergoes a live transformation. A body that blends sound archives, playback recordings and embodied memories, words and materials – earth, clay and paint.
The body is gradually covered over and becomes the site of a metamorphosis. Layer upon layer, a hybrid creature emerges.
La Monstre explores the traces left by patriarchy, sexism and social norms on our bodies and our imaginations. A transformation as an act of resistance: carrying these legacies, kneading them, distorting them, until another way of existing emerges.
