Tamborradas de amor: a musical and percussive celebration of poetry written by women, featuring texts by female poets from around the world and contemporary writings on our relationship with the world and current affairs.
‘Tamborradas de Amor’ by Les Dames de la Joliette
Les Dames de la Joliette bring together the voices of Maura Guerrera, Annie Maltinti, Sylvie Paz and Kalliroi Raouzeou. Their work explores poetry of resistance, liberation and female creativity. ‘Tamborradas de Amor’ is a sung and percussive celebration of poetry expressing the female voice. Featuring texts by female poets from around the world and contemporary writings on our relationship with the world and current affairs. Drawing on a diverse range of Mediterranean influences, these women—who are Marseillais at heart—anchor their drums to the furious pulse of their city… “When the drum plays, my inner solitude recedes”. Les Dames de la Joliette have been awarded the ‘Musiques d’ici et d’ailleurs’ prize.
