Screening of the documentary film “Eredikà” in the presence of its director, Jean-Luc Cesco.
With the support of the Ardèche Department, and in partnership with the “Ardèche des Sources et Volcans” library network and “Terres de doc – Ardèche Image”.
Jean-Luc lives in a flat where Joseph, the father of his neighbour Muguette, once lived. The filmmaker senses an intangible presence there, which prompts him to start filming his neighbour. The elderly lady gradually reveals herself in all her eccentricity, hoarding in her flat a jumble of objects picked up from the street. With his viewfinder-style camera slung over his shoulder, Jean-Luc Casco paints a dual, interwoven portrait. Drawing on their memories, the filmmaker interweaves the story of his father with that of Muguette’s father. With *Eredità* (Italian for ‘inheritance’), he thus brings to life a past filled with fragments, like small testaments to the cinema of everyday life. Each visit is thus a moment of humanity shared with the viewer, a fleeting yet salutary antidote to their vulnerability.
