Historic site and monument in Barnas, Ardèche


The current Barnas church dates from the 19th century and is a collective work by everyone in the village.

The village of St Théofrède-de-Bruc (current town center of Barnas) dates back to the 8th century. St Théofrède was abbot of the monastery of Monastier, he was martyred on October 19, 729 by the Saracens. It is from this time that dates the 1st church. Stained and destroyed in 1856. The current church dates from the nineteenth century is a collective work of the entire village.
