Start at the “INFO RANDO” panel, at Place Saint Théophrède in Barnas.

① Take the stairs between the houses. Once at the top, follow the path on the right. You will be able to admire a beautiful panorama of the Ardèche valley with, in the distance, the Chadenac tower, a remnant of a feudal castle dating from the year 960.

② You are then on the botanical trail of the Jilieux and Lafarre Valleys, designed and created by the members of the “Friends of Lafarre” Association. Signs will give you the names of the different plants encountered.

③ Pass under the stone cross to reach the hamlet of Pouget. It is located on a “Serre,” where the Jilieux and Lafarre valleys converge. Follow the road.

④ At the intersection, continue left to reach the hamlet of Lafarre. Continue crossing the Lafarre stream. Go down the municipal road to join the RN102.

⑤ When you reach RN 102, turn left for about 50 meters and cross the national road to take the small road opposite that descends to the river.

⑥ At the Pont de Bouix, follow the sign 🚩”Barnas, 1.1 km”. Continue on the paved road, ford the Lafarre stream (Note! Uncrossable in case of heavy rain).

⑦ Take the first road on the right to rejoin the RN 102. Turn left, walk along the road with caution until Place Saint Théophrède.

From Aubenas, take the N102 towards Thueyts, then continue to Barnas.
From Le Puy, go down the Chavade pass towards Aubenas.
