The castle is hidden in an unspoiled natural and agricultural setting between the volcanic crater and village: woods, volcano, springs and wetlands of major ecological interest. It's the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park's head office.
It has a very romantic spirit with his aerial corbels.
The idea of creating the park dates back to 1992, at the initiative of castanéiculteurs anxious to protect and enhance their production.
The preservation of the natural heritage is the basis of its sustainable development program: the park must preserve and develop the wealth common to its territory, territory with strong features (landscapes, rural know-how, religious history, ancient volcanism, mills, etc. .)
