WOMEN 68 NOT EVEN DEAD Women 68 Not Even Dead By Nadège Prugnard
Oratorio for three actresses
Three friends in their forties, Simone, Mathilde and Marie-France, upset that May 68 has been dismissed as a bad memory, come out of retirement to continue the struggles of today, saying that now is not the time to give up the ideals of their youth.
It is an oratorio of spoken words, a performance by actresses who rage unapologetically with the nakedness of words and the cruelty of evil. It is not a return to the past, but an incitement to move towards the future.
Between Che Guevara's poster and the manifesto of the 343 sluts, between Deleuze's anti-Oedipus and Angela Davis' Black Power,
the actresses recount and sing about May 1968 and the need today to continue marching, moving forward, sharing the unstoppable breath of freedom.
