Historic site and monument in Prades, Ardèche
Private property, not open to visitors, visible from the road. The current château is a former fortified house built in the early 17th century for Gilbert Vincenti, an officer in the service of the Lord of Ventadour. The castle was listed as a Historic Monument in 2001.
The original house is doubled during the eighteenth century or early nineteenth century and the common part of which dates back to the seventeenth century. This building is a good example of a strong house whose residential architecture with defensive attributes has evolved into a pleasure house or farmhouse. The interior retains an original fireplace and perhaps a French ceiling. The interest of this building lies in its system of machicolations on crows molded on the east and south facades.
