Opening of the 31st Estivales du Château du Pin, featuring a musical performance by the Ici ou là ensemble.

Centred on the theme ‘Bestiary’, this year’s festival brings together exhibitions, installations, photographs, drawings, paintings and publications.

31 years of artistic encounters at the Château du Pin!

Set within a 16th-century fortified house and gardens designated as a ‘Jardin remarquable’, the Estivales du Château du Pin continue to foster a dialogue between heritage, contemporary creation and the landscape. For over three decades, this unique venue has welcomed artists, writers, musicians and visitors to a space where art can be discovered as one moves through the rooms, terraces and gardens.

For this 31st edition, the theme ‘Bestiaire’ invites visitors to explore the many representations of living creatures – real and imaginary animals, metamorphoses and inhabited landscapes. Drawings, paintings, photographs, installations, sculptures and artists’ books form a sensory journey bringing together works by Colette Bonzo, Martine Diersé, Geneviève Gutierrez, Liis Lillo, Louiseneige, Benoît Mazzer, Anne-Marie Rey, Maxime Sanchez and Tristan Zilberman.

In the gardens, a photographic exhibition extends this immersive experience, whilst art students from the Lycée du Sacré-Cœur in Privas present their ‘Petits arrangements avec la réalité’. Éditions du Pin is also supporting this season with several new publications devoted to the theme of the bestiary and the guest artists.

Organised by the Colette Bonzo Association, with the support of Fabras Town Council, the Ardèche Departmental Council, the Ardèche des Sources et Volcans Community of Communes and the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park, the Estivales form part of the Échappées du PNR des Monts d’Ardèche, an artistic trail where heritage, nature and contemporary creation come together.

A summer event where memory, imagination and creativity intersect, in a unique setting in the heart of the Monts d’Ardèche.
