A typical Renaissance fortified house in the Ardèche Cévennes, enlarged in 1591 and flanked by three towers. The gardens of the Château du Pin have been awarded the ‘remarkable garden’ label (Ministry of Culture). Home and museum of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park.
Two floors open to visitors, connected by a spiral staircase, with ribbed or barrel vaults and French ceilings. Entrance doors with ‘broken pediments’ (16th century) and ogee mouldings topped with coats of arms (15th century). Two monumental fireplaces. Antique furniture and a collection of modern and contemporary works. Bookshop. Headquarters of Éditions du Pin.
Exhibitions by guest artists, permanent exhibition of works by Colette Bonzo (1917-1967).
Contemporary gardens labelled ‘Remarkable Garden’ by the Ministry of Culture, works combining sculptures and plants, including 100 varieties of old roses. Created and maintained by Martine Diersé. Works by guest artists.
Site labelled ‘Valeurs Parc’ (Park Values).
Also featuring ‘La Grange aux Livres’, a former barn dedicated to public readings and Éditions du Pin.
