‘One more jump’ by Emanuele Gerosa; 2019, 1h23. Italy, Lebanon, Switzerland. OV with French subtitles
In the ruins of Gaza, young Palestinians practise parkour, a street acrobatics discipline that allows them to conjure up a difficult existence, by opposing their open-air imprisonment with the aerial freedom of their jumps. One of them, Abdallah, a professional athlete, has managed to escape from Gaza and is competing in Germany. His friend Jehad still lives there. He trains young athletes there, for whom sport remains the only source of hope in the midst of conflict. Should they leave to fulfil their dreams or stay to fight for their country? This question forms the common thread running through this deeply moving tale of personal achievement...

The film was made in 2019, before the war between Israel and Hamas. In the twelve months of war in this Palestinian territory, young people account for a quarter of the deaths recorded.

EMANUELE GEROSA: This Italian documentary filmmaker studied contemporary history at the University of Bologna. He then lived in Spain where he worked as a documentary and commercial director. On his return to Italy, he devoted himself to making creative documentaries. In 2015 he directed his 1st feature film ‘Between sisters’, which won numerous awards.
