In 1958, volunteers saved Notre-Dame de Nieigles from ruin. Thanks to their efforts, it was listed as a Historic Monument in 1975. Today, the association keeps this heritage alive with concerts and events.

A little history about Nieigles: Today, a magnificent setting surrounds this 11th / 12th century Romanesque church. In 993, it was a priory founded by Guy d'Anjou, bishop of Le Puy. In the 13th century, Bernard de Ventadour, the local lord, donated a statue of the Black Madonna to the church at Nieigles. Many architectural changes were made from the 15th century onwards. After the separation of church and state in the 19th century, the parish of Pont de Labeaume was created and the church was abandoned.
