Ancient volcano (1,413 m) overlooking the village of Le Plagnal (07590), where you can enjoy superb views of the Ardéchoise mountains, the Margeride and the Cévennes. Accessible by car via carriage road.

At the summit of Suc de Chapelas, you can enjoy a panoramic view.
The Suc is a strombolian volcano of the same type as Mont Gerbier de Joncs.
The plain on which the current village is built is thought to be an ancient lake, filled in by the volcano's lava.
Volcanism is present here in the pozzolan on the access road.
