Saint-Romain-de-Lerps, Ardèche
This vista with 360° views is the only site in Europe peaking at 649m and was once a strategic military and religious site. The easy-to-reach observatory has views of 13 departments from the Rhône Valley to Provence's foothills.
In order to make the site more accessible to the greatest number of visitors and to enhance the value of the built and landscape heritage, the Community of Communes has undertaken a complete restoration of the site in 2013. A new access ramp was built: less steep and covered with deactivated concrete, it leads from the car park to the chapel.
In addition, the small Romanesque chapel has undergone a renovation of its facades. It also has a forecourt and stone benches. Similarly, the thematic path surrounding the site has been redesigned.
