In Occitan, a "chirat" is a large mound of stones. The "Chirat Blanc" (white "chirat") covers the remains of an oppidum, a Gallic fortification, with the bases of huts and a road.
From the top, there is a magnificent outlook point over the Vocance Valley as far as Annonay and the Loire.
