This geological curiosity is above all the starting point of the longest river in France.

It is at the foot of the mountain that the 3 springs meet to form the Loire, which will flow to the Atlantic Ocean after having travelled more than 1000 km!

Because of its particular shape and the extraordinary richness of the nature that surrounds it, the Mont Gerbier de Jonc is an essential site in the Ardèche department.
