In the countryside of north-eastern France. Wild boars ravaging crops have sparked an all-out war between hunters and farmers. Brun, a bankrupt cereal farmer, is struggling to keep his farm afloat. When a local bigwig pushes him over the edge, he snaps and disappears. A year later, Fulda, a Corsican gendarme transferred to the region for disciplinary reasons, leads the investigation. Between flashes of insight and spectacular blunders, his haphazard methods lead him onto the trail of the ‘Attilas’ – wild boars of extraordinary size. But his recent break-up and the vodka in which his brain is swimming aren’t helping. Fortunately, there’s Stéphane, the gendarmerie’s new psychologist: she’s there to bring a bit of order to his chaos — or is it the other way round?
