In the heart of the Neyrac market, the Trio Baïritz takes you on a journey through medieval songs, Ardèche tunes and music from elsewhere, played by three musicians on flutes, oboes and bagpipes.
The pieces and songs are first and foremost the musicians' favourites: medieval music has pride of place, and the programme is enhanced by a sprinkling of traditional Ardèche songs and a pinch of Irish music.
After working together for several years on a discovery class project that immersed them in the Middle Ages, the three musicians wanted to share their repertoire of banquets, balls and musical and poetic evenings, which they usually accompany as Trobaïritz*, with a wider audience.
*trobaïritz: feminine of troubadour, Occitan-speaking poetess and composer who lived in the south of France in the 12th and 13th centuries.
